A Window To Life
The name Ventana is Spanish for “window”, which we thought was the perfect expression of the building as a conduit between home and neighborhood, looking outward and inward.
Venture out to a dozen nearby parks, or stay in and enjoy an acre of outdoor amenities. Foodies can choose from more than 100 nearby restaurants, or create your own dining experience right here on the roof decks with outdoor kitchens, BBQs and pizza ovens. Music lovers can check out live performances at the many neighborhood clubs and venues, or jam in The Parlor, which is equipped with a piano, guitar and other instruments. There’s a bounty to be had at the local farmers’ market and specialty grocery stores nearby. There are endless murals and street art on local buildings, as well as a curated art program and exhibitions right at Ventana.
With a foot in the future and a foot in the past, Ventana’s exterior features modern lines and a shimmering façade while its form references the heritage of the Outer Mission and the surrounding landscape, including McLaren Park, Twin Peaks, and Balboa Park.
Presidio Bay designs highly-curated residential properties that evoke a sense of place and belonging. From inception to concept to design to operations, they oversee every detail and are pleased to bring this solid foundation to Ventana Residences. Our focus here was on creating a holistic living experience, combining wellness, vibrancy, social connection, technology and ecology in one beautiful address. We have also included 48 permanently affordable residences for low-income families so this experience can be shared by all.
We wanted Ventana to be more than a place you simply come home to. We wanted to create a truly unique experience through a collection of inspiring connections, spontaneous interactions and an overall welcoming spirit that elevates the sense of community.
You can host friends for dinner from our rooftop terrace and al fresco dining area. Grab a set of wheels from our eBike fleet and pedal to the Farmers’ Market or a concert at the McLaren Park amphitheater. Gather your playgroup in the community flower garden or visit the butterfly sanctuary. Jam on the piano, guitar or play records in The Parlor. Stretch out with friends on the outdoor yoga deck or hit a Peloton in the gym. Tune up your bike in our onsite repair station. Pamper your pooch in The Pet Spaw. This is truly more than a home, it’s an experience and a destination in itself.
Smart Home Technology
Ventana offers a suite of smart tech features to make for a modern, care-free living experience.
The centerpiece of this is our custom ButterflyMX smartphone app. It lets residents use their phones to unlock lobby doors, access elevators and the package room, greet visitors over the video intercom system, and arrange for deliveries and service providers. This is accompanied by programmable digital thermostats and smart switches and outlets, along with Xeal EV charging stations for electric cars.
We’ve also tailored the community for remote working, with high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the building and a quiet study-library area on the roof deck.
The Outer Mission has long been a foodie hot spot for those in the know, with more than 100 nearby restaurants, coffee shops, cafes and bars spanning Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Filipino, Mexican, Salvadoran, and American cuisine.
Highlights include incredible ramen and sushi options on Ocean Avenue, the best tacos and pupusas in town on Mission Street, the legendary Beep’s burger, and fantastic coffee shops, cafes, and wine bars. Try Filipino specialties at Pampanguena Cuisine, Salvadoran delicacies at Pupusería Metapán, the Cajun menu at Gentilly, signature sandwiches at Roxie Food Center and TY Sandwiches; the red curry Duck at Zabb Thai, or one of the more than 300 whiskeys at Broken Record, which also offers a Mexican menu featuring the local favorites – Squid Ink tamales and Wu-Tang Flan.
